Part 2: The Editor from Hell

Preview… My agent assured me: “No, this is not normal editing. This isn’t even editing. This is her rewriting the book. This is not what editors are supposed to do, they are supposed to ask questions, make suggestions, give feedback… this is honestly bizarre. AND it’s not even her in there, it’s mostly her assistant poorly rewriting huge swaths of the book?!?!” I am paraphrasing what my agent said to me, of course, because lots of it was said on the phone, but I just searched back in the emails and there were lots of “WTFs.”

My agent told me, “We can pull out of this book deal if we need to. We can give back the money if they are not a good fit. We can and we will.”

This is the story of how I almost pulled out of my book deal for The F*ck It Diet.
