The 9/11 Post
Some inside scoop, some thoughts on conspiracies + a deleted chapter from Tired As F*ck
My voice teacher in high school was dating a man who worked high up at the state department, and I have a little story to tell…
So, as you may see, I’m trying on the newsletter name “Problematic” for size. And when you read this post, you’ll see why.
This post, is the kind of post that will definitely be labeled problematic. It’s apparently problematic to even entertain cOnSpIrAcIeS. Which is bull. Somehow they’ve been able to spin the narrative that questioning the government dangerous… I mean hello… that is the marker of a successful government psychological operation. That’s what they do in an authoritarian regime. When you can’t question authority… you’ve got big problems.
Anyway, all of this is why I’ve moved to substack. At least here, I can’t get my account shut down. And there are a lot of things I want the freedom to write about, that many people consider to be pRoBLeMaTiC. I don’t agree that they’re problematic, of course. I think having off-limit topics is problematic.
Not everything I write about going forward will be “problematic” like this. And believe it or not, I am not looking for drama. I am truly just looking for the freedom to write about what intrigues me. Read more about why I’m trying out the newsletter name “Problematic” here.
Don’t be shocked if I change the newsletter name back to Caroline Dooner, this is just a trial period.
(Also, if you’re just here for the deleted chapter from Tired as F*ck, scroll all the way down to the bottom. I included it as part of this, because it happened to be about 9/11 too. It is behind the paywall.)
Ok, so …get to the fun part
Now, I know this topic seems kinnnnd of click-baity, so I should say that what I’m about to tell you about 9/11 is not that detailed or salacious, especially if you’ve heard something like it before. But it is a unique, inside-scoop story that I didn’t register the importance of back when it happened.
Before I get into this, I want to say that… I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. I am just telling a story, and telling you where my head is now that I’ve let myself process the story, 18 years later. I know that just writing this and sharing my current perspective will have people unsubscribing lickedy split. Why? It’s oh soooo problematic.
Not to me.
Why am I Writing This
I was doing a “What’s Your Most Controversial Opinion” question box on instagram, and someone said “9/11 was an inside job” - and I when I posted it, I promised that I would tell a little story on my newsletter behind the paywall. And this information, if you believe it, is also a gateway into realizing that … things are not always as they seem…
I am going to tell you about my high school voice teacher, and her boyfriend who worked in the State Department... and I may not leave this post up. Or I may eventually edit it down to keep me off a government watch list. Haahahahahah ahhhhhh I wish I was fully kidding but I’m only partially kiddinnnnnggggg.
Before I continue, I want to say that in no way do I want to disrespect the people who lost their lives in 9/11, or the people who lost loved ones, or the ones who dealt with sickness and death from breathing in all the carcinogenic dust. I want to give respect where respect is due. It was a horror. A horror I didn’t really fully understand until I lived in New York, and met a lot of people who had been there, or been down there, that day.
And …for what it’s worth, the same goes for Covid. Whenever I critique aspects of the covid response and the government mandates and the misinformation about “misinformation” and … essentially living in a propaganda state, it is not dismissing the pain and grief of the people who lost loved ones, or the people who are experiencing lingering issues from Covid. It’s just that… I now believe there is more going on than what we are seeing on the surface.
My Voice Teacher, Her Boyfriend, and 9/11
My voice teacher, Ania, was from Belarus, and she was the best. She is still out there teaching, and I’d tell you her full name but I don’t want her to get flagged by the government, ok? I also do not want to get flagged by the government, but my little fingers just cannot stop typing things that are getting me in trouble. And let’s be honest, I am already on some list somewhere.
Ania was my voice teacher from 7th grade all the way through senior year of high school, and she taught me classical voice. Otherwise known as opera. I hated opera. I hated singing those arias, honestly. I wanted to be a musical theater performer (and I became one), but opera was apparently good technique training, and I got along really well with Ania, so I kept taking lessons. But I also spent the majority of my lessons trying to waste time by getting Ania to just talk to me about her life. And I was very skilled at wasting time in our lessons.
She told me about her love of collecting beautiful background wallpaper pictures on her computer. She told me about her new favorite activity: playing pool. She told me about her new exercise regimen at the gym, she would talk to me about her cat, Charlie, she told me about her baby (her car) and how she loved to drive dangerously fast on the highway and avoiding her “friends” (the cops). And she mentioned she had started online dating (which was pretty early for online dating. We are talking like… 2003/2004).
At a certain point, when I was about 15 or 16, she started seriously dating someone who lived down in Virginia, and she would visit him every weekend (by… you guessed it! Driving really fast on the highway, avoiding her “friends” the cops). His name was Robert (no it actually wasn’t, but I changed it to protect “Robert,” Ania, and … me?) I’m pretty sure she dated Robert for many, many years, and after I graduated she moved down to Virginia to be nearer to him, and start her own music teaching practice.
Eventually, I learned that Robert worked at the State Department. (And… forgive me, because my details are a little fuzzy… I had no idea I was going to be writing this 18 years later, and that any of these details were going to matter.) According to Ania, he was “the #2 in the state department, and worked just under Colin Powell.” To be fair, I had no idea what the State Department was, or who Colin Powell was either at the time. 9/11 had just happened two years before. I remember when 9/11 happened, people were saying: Oh my GOD. The World Trade Center buildings have been hit by planes!! And I was like, what the heck is the world trade center.
